Why? Is there certain types of fruit that are in a low glycemic? Im trying to lose weight and someone told me to eat fruit ONCE in a while and mainly stick to veggies since they're low glycemic as well as rice. What are other examples of low glycemic complex carbs?
Search for GI lists of various foods. Some Fruits are not high GI because of the fiber content and proportion of their sugar that is in the form of fructose. Fructose is processed in the body in a non-insulin dependent manner. So with proper selection and moderation, you can eat fruit regularly. Avoid eating fruit near bedtime.
A large volume of veggies are important to a heathly diet. Creative prep is the key to making veggies satisifying.
